Rajon Rondo (at CHA, DK - $9,000, FD - $8,000) – Rondo is getting a bit expensive on both sites, but his upside is undeniable. Over the last 10 games, Rondo is averaging 13.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 13.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He’s a triple double threat every time he steps on the court, and he gets a good matchup against Kemba Walker tonight. Aside from Russell Westbrook, who is priced entirely too high if Kevin Durant is back tonight, there are very few elite options. Rondo has enough upside for his price, and he also is a fairly safe option. He plays heavy minutes for the Kings, and he should have no problem filling up the stat sheet tonight. He can be used in all leagues.
Rodney Hood (vs OKC, DK - $5,000, FD - $4,700) – Hood has been playing huge minutes for the Jazz recently, as he has played 35 or more minutes in each of his last four games. He gets a great matchup against the Thunder, who have been one of the worst teams in the NBA at defending the shooting guard. Hood has good upside as a scorer, who can also add a few rebounds, assists, and steals in any given game. He’s a bit risk, as he relies almost fully on scoring every night, but he has been taking just under 15 shots per game recently, and he makes a great tournament option in a good matchup tonight.
Jose Calderon (at MIA, DK - $3,800, FD - $4,700) – The Knicks look as if they have soured on Jerian Grant already, which means Calderon will continue to play huge minutes for the Knicks. Over his last three games, he has averaged 31.3 minutes per game. In those games, he has also averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. While these numbers aren’t outstanding, he has continuously be hitting value. He is extremely cheap on both sites, and he doesn’t need many fantasy points to hit value. He can be used in all leagues tonight.
DeMarcus Cousins (at CHA, DK - $10,300, FD - $10,600) – Boogie has been dominating over his last five games, averaging 32.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game. He gets a great matchup against the Hornets, who have been the worst team in the NBA against power forwards this season. Cousins price is extremely high, but he also has one of the best floor/ceiling combinations in the NBA. He’s a bit riskier to use on FanDuel because he’s labeled as a center, but he can still be used in all leagues. With the lack of elite guards tonight, Cousins makes the best high priced player on the slate.
Kristaps Porzingis (at MIA, DK - $6,700, FD - $6,300) – Porzingis is coming off a ridiculous game, in which he scored 24 points with 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 7 blocks. That displays his upside, although he also tends to get in foul trouble and play away from the paint, which limits his opportunities some nights. Tonight, he gets a great matchup against Chris Bosh, who also isn’t a physical power forward, which should work in Porzingis’ favor tonight. He certainly comes with tons of risk, but his price isn’t all that high for a player that has 50+ fantasy point potential. He can be used in tournaments tonight.
Tristan Thompson (vs ORL, DK - $5,300, FD - $5,600) – Timofey Mozgov was recently injured, and it looks like he is going to miss extended time. In the Cavs last game, Tristan Thompson drew the start at center and compiled 9 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks in 40 minutes. He’ll likely continue to play heavy minutes for the Cavs, which will give him great opportunity to exceed value. His price shot up for this game, but it is still entirely too low. The Magic have really struggled as a defense this season, and Thompson can be used in all leagues.
Andre Drummond (at MIL, DK - $9,700, FD - $9,700) – Drummond is coming off his first game of the season in which he did not double double. He still was able to score 8 points with 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. He gets a tough matchup against the Bucks, but Drummond should easily get back on track with a double double tonight. Drummond has the potential to score 20 points with 20 rebounds anytime he steps on the court, but he may be best suited for GPPs until his price drops a bit.
Tim Duncan (vs PHO, DK - $6,300, FD - $6,900) – Duncan’s season has been fairly disappointing because of his lack of minutes. The Spurs are trying to keep him fresh, as they are looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. Currently, Aldridge is injured, and if he misses this game, Duncan will likely see extended minutes again. In his last start, Duncan played 40 minutes and scored 10 points with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 steals. He gets a great matchup against the Suns, who will likely be pushing the pace, which will give Duncan more opportunities tonight. Still, Duncan is a GPP only option, but he has great upside if Aldridge is out again.
