James Harden (at DET, DK - $10,300, FD - $10,700) – When Harden gets rolling, there are very few options who are better than him in fantasy. He’s has the ability to contribute in all five categories, and he’s a tremendous triple double threat every time he steps on the court. He has been on fire recently, scoring 40, 45, and 50 points in three of his last six games. He gets a great matchup against the Pistons, who have struggled to contain shooting guards this season. He has been playing heavy minutes for the Rockets because of their inability to blowout teams, and that should be the case tonight. Harden can be used in all leagues.
Jeff Teague (vs OKC, DK - $6,500, FD - $6,800) – Teague was on fire since returning from an ankle injury, but the Hawks were blown out by the Spurs in their last game, which led Teague to only play 23 minutes. Before that, Teague was averaging 19.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.7 steals in his three starts. Teague should be well rested, which means he will likely play a full games worth of minutes in what should be a close game. Teague has great steal potential tonight, as he’s matched up against Westbrook, who turned the ball over 11 times in his last game. He also hasn’t been playing defense very well this season, and Teague has tremendous upside.
Jerryd Bayless (vs DEN, DK - $4,900, FD - $4,500) – Bayless was inserted into the starting lineup yesterday, as MCW has been struggling recently. In that game, Bayless recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal in 43 minutes. He has now dominated in four consecutive games, and his price does not represent that. Less than $5K is entirely too cheap for anyone playing minutes in the high-30s on a nightly basis. Bayless also gets a great matchup against the Nuggets, who love pushing the pace and have struggled to cover the point guard this season. Bayless should have little to no problems hitting value tonight, and he can be used in all leagues.
Kevin Durant (at ATL, DK - $9,900, FD - $10,500) – Durant has played in one game since returning from injury, and he scored 34 points with 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks. He was also beginning to heat up before he was injured. It’s safe to say he’s quickly reclaiming his title as an offensive powerhouse, and he should be a huge part of the Thunder’s game plan tonight, as they try to win against a strong Atlanta team. Durant has the ability to contribute in all five categories at an elite level, and he makes a great play in all leagues for his current price tag.
Dirk Nowitzki (at SAC, DK - $6,400, FD - $6,500) – If you’re looking for upside, Nowitzki isn’t the play you should be looking at. He’s an extremely consistent player, but he somewhat lacks upside. His price isn’t too high, but he has the ability double double while adding a few peripheral stats. He gets a great matchup against the Kings, who have one of the worst defenses in the NBA. Dirk has been playing well over the last 10 days, averaging 15.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game. Nowitzki should have very little problems scoring tonight, and he’s a great cash game play, although he lacks the upside for tournaments.
Darrell Arthur (at MIL, DK - $4,300, FD - $3,900) – Arthur is a bit of a wildcard tonight. Kenneth Faried is back, but the Nuggets aren’t focused on winning and they are easing him back into the rotation. That means there should be a few extra minutes for Arthur, who has been starting in his place. If Arthur is named the starter with Faried coming off the bench, he will have much better upside than if Faried regains his starting spot. Arthur has flashed an ability to score fantasy points when given the minutes, which is a problem tonight. It would be wise to monitor Faried’s new tonight, and see if he’s on a minute’s restriction. For these reasons, Arthur is a GPP only option tonight.
Andre Drummond (vs HOU, DK - $8,900, FD - $9,300) – Drummond had been struggling recently, which caused his price to drop, but he got back on track last night with a 20-points, 18-rebound performance. He’s nearly a lock for a double double with the ability to go for 20 points and 20 rebounds on any given night. He also can add a few steals and blocks each night. He gets a great matchup against Houston, who love playing at a fast pace, which will give Drummond a few more opportunities for fantasy points. His price is low enough that he can be used in all leagues.
Zaza Pachulia (at SAC, DK - $5,900, FD - $6,400) – Pachulia has been hit or miss this season. He has tremendous upside, but he also comes with huge risk. He has double doubled in five of his last six games. The one game that he struggled in, he only played 21 minutes due to foul troubles. Generally, he plays 30+ minutes each night, and that will likely be the case tonight. He gets a great matchup against the Kings, who have struggled on defense this season, and Pachulia makes a great tournament option tonight.
