Derrick Rose (@DEN, FD - $6,200, DK - $6,200) Well after Butler ruined everyone's Wednesday and now being questionable today makes Rose appealing. The only worry with him is the Anthony Davis effect, in which he can get easily get hurt and knocked out mid game. AD is averaging 1.7 injuries a week, leading the league. Rose has a good matchup against Denver as they still keep failing to defend the guard position. If Butler plays he becomes a little less appealing, but I wouldn’t be too against it. Also like Pau Gasol down low against Denver’s bigs too if he plays.
Wayne Ellington - (v Sac, FD - $3,900, DK - $4,100) When JJ got hurt it limited the players on Brooklyn to ever actually take. Wayne, at least, makes it rain sometimes... making him a good situational play. I would take that gamble on him tonight. He sees close to 30 minutes or more a game and being putting up a steady line. Kings themselves can’t defend the guard position very well and the kings give up the most 3 PTs a game to shooting guards. I would have low exposure to him for sure, but he would a good little punt to have if you need to go cheap.
Lebron James - (v Boston, FD - $10,200, DK - $9,600) Hopefully this game goes how Vegas thinks because I have honestly no clue how the Cavs lost to the Hornets. I like the up-tempo in this game with Lebron. He has been playing superb since the Blatt firing and I think he has shown paying up for him isn’t as much of a risk. If you aren’t feeling Lebron I would look at Kyrie as Delly is out and Mo already played too many minutes this year. 44 or more in his last 4 games reach at least x4 value. He could be used in all formats to me.
Taj Gibson - (@DEN, FD - $5,300, DK - $5,800) Now if Pau doesn’t play I would say Taj is must and even maybe Bobby Hypeman Portis. Chicago would be very stripped of players and guys would have to see an excess of minutes and usage. Taj on FD is surrounded by players who have their upside like Myles Turner and Aaron Gordon, who I think will be higher own that Taj. So if you want to go against the people then here would be your guy. Much more of a cash play than the other two, but I would say all 3 are great tournament plays.
DeMarcus Cousins - (@BKN, FD - $11,000, DK - $11,300) I love targeting teams against Brooklyn’s terrible defense. In most instances it should be players that matchup well, but none the less, usually Lopez/Thad struggle with big dominate players. Well here comes the biggest boy of them all in Cousins. That ankle sprain doesn’t seem to be bothering as bad as it looked which is good news if you were worried about that. I would expect to see some solid Cousins magic tonight and dominance in this game. Just be aware, though, it’s been more than a month since Cousins last ejection and I feel it’s about that time for him to get one, that’s like half serious and half not.
Ish Smith (PG) - (@WAS, FD - $6,700, DK - $7,100) I might be wrong about this and the Ish Smith train finally came to a stop, but I just like Ish tonight. Wizards played a hell of a game against GS 2 days ago and now might think this game is a burner, but I think it’s now possible to say 76ers aren’t the worse team in the league. Suns have that spot by a mile for sure. Wall still isn’t playing much defense and I think Ish is going to run all over him and with others being off due to recent logs I think he would be a solid play to have in tournaments.
