Archie Goodwin (v OKC, FD - $5,200, DK - $5,900) Just a note on DK tonight, Archie is at shooting guard, NOT point guard. But the Suns are going against the Thunder tonight which in real life this is a terrible game and the Thunder should man handle them easily. Although, we don’t care about that - we more care about who can still capitalize in it. With the Suns being very thin at the guard position it gives Archie/Booker the chance to get 35+ minutes a game no matter what. Both should have their fair share of chances tonight to score a healthy amount of fantasy points and be good in both cash and GPP. Having exposure to them will be important as the public has been aware of the Suns problems and you will see Goodwin/Booker highly owned till Knight returns. The only downfall of Goodwin is his turnover problem. He has been benched for the majority of a half because of it, and it’s not like Westbrook isn’t going to be an annoyance to him. I wouldn’t be against having Booker/Goodwin duo as the two combined are still cheaper than Durant and they have the ability to combine for 60+ or more.
Marco Belinelli (@CLE, FD - $4,000, DK - $4,600) Kings are hurting with McLemore and Gay still out for this game and everyone else being banged up. Marco has had 35+ minutes in the past 4 games and averaging 24.6 FanDuel fantasy points. So getting 24 this game would be a x6 value which could be huge has SG is very weak tonight. This game has blowout potential, but shouldn’t scare you away from Marco as he still will receive a chunk of minutes. On DK I think would be worth spending up a little more for Crawford as he has a better spot tonight, but still all for Marco on FanDuel.
Stanley Johnson (v TOR, FD - $4,900, DK - $5,900) Flat Stanley is just the chalk of chalk right now, but it’s hard to go against the public and fade someone who is still cheap on FanDuel and playing like he is. With Pope out he has managed to drop 30+ fantasy points in both starts and been very efficient in his role. I think it’s better to be on his train for now till either his price gets out of hand or till Pope comes back. Really isn’t much to be scared with Stanley as he has to fill the stat line in all categories and will continue seeing 35+ minutes in this offense. His ownership should be near 50% tonight and fading him could be the make or break of your lineup, so proceed it with caution.
Thaddeus Young (v DEN, FD - $6,900, DK - $6,700) Thad just plays good against crappy teams, and tonight he has a crappy team. It isn’t news to anyone that Denver struggles against big men, but Thad/Lopez should bully Denver badly tonight in the paint. I think this game itself is interesting as there are so many mid tier costing players in it and both teams fail to play defense. So matchups like Mudiay – Sloan and Jokic-Lopez just scream play me. All terrible defenders who all can also produce a big value. So I would take a look at this game more if you are trying to find those mid-cost players as this game has one too many. I favor Thad here more than anyone due to the upside, but Jokic, Sloan, and Mudiay are all players I will be considering.
Gorgui Dieng (v NOP, FD - $6,100, DK - $6,500) KAT and Dieng combined had more than 100 fantasy points Saturday against the Bulls, which is going to make them be on everyone’s radar. With KG and Pekovic out it has given Dieng a starting role and a whole lot more of minutes. His cost is very low compared to KATs which makes Dieng more appealing in this spot. Now he will be dealing with AD down low, but I don’t think that’s a bad matchup for Dieng. If something changes that KG/Pek play it makes him less of a play, but as of now they are both doubtful. I would say Dieng is great in all formats tonight.
Nicolas Batum (v CHI, FD - $6,700, DK - $6,700) Batum looks like he is back to being healthy after he and Kemba played footsie too much and screwed up their toes. I think Batum is in a great spot tonight with the Bulls lacking any defenders tonight. He seeing mass amounts of minutes and dropped 40+ in the past 2 games. With no Butler to guard him tonight, he should run train on the Bulls (Choo Choo). Other players on the Hornets like Williams/Zeller are worth mentioning as they have to go against Taj/Gasol who just so god awful at defending.
