As NBA is a game where last minute real life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second
Cash Plays: Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Malcolm Brogdon
Gpp Plays: Isaiah Thomas, Ish Smith
Game Theory: Chris Paul came back with a fire and put on a huge fantasy performance in his first gaem back form injury. He did not look like he had any rust at all and looked in perfect form coming into tonight's matchup with the Rockets. Although Beverley is a lockdown defender, Paul is a better offensive player and should see more usage than usual in this high-paced matchup. Malcolm Brogdon should see a slight usage and minutes increase with the Michael Beasley injury which should translate into more fantasy points in a great matchup with the Nuggets. I seem to be wrong every time I choose a Pistons PG but Ish Smith continues to eat into Jackson's minutes and if Jackson is struggling on defense today Smith will see the bulk of the minutes.
Cash Plays: Gary Harris, Seth Curry, Rodney Hood
Gpp Plays: Sean Kilpatrick, JJ Reddick
Game Theory: Gary Harris has been extremely safe and consistent of late and should be a staple in your cash games tonight. Exact same intro to SG tonight as last night. Harris is in another solid matchup and should see a ton of minutes tonight at a price tag that is just too cheap for his usage. Does not carry a ton of upside but with the type of minutes he gets at his price there is some upside there. Rodney Hood had a great game yesterday against the Thunder and really looked like the Hood we used to know. He's in another uptempo matchup today and has huge upside IMO at his deflated price point. As a Nets fan I will have Sean Kilpatrick in some GPP's tonight but he really is in a good spot against the Kings if he can get the minutes he deserves. The only problem that caps his upside is that the Net's coach refuses to play anyone 28+ minutes.
Cash Plays: Terrance Ross, Lebron James
Gpp Plays: Marcus Morris, Carmelo Anthony, Khris Middleton
Game Theory: Terrance Ross is still too cheap for the type of usage and minutes he's seeing in his new role on his new team. He is in an uptempo game with a plus matchup and I expect him to continue knocking down shots if he continues to get the minutes, great play. The Cavs vs. Celtics game is an EVEN spread and in a neutral matchup with a team Lebron usually shows up against I think he is a great play in cash today with some upside for GPP's if this game stays close down the stretch. Lebron's been getting a ton of minutes this season and it won't stop tonight. From what I've seen Carmelo Anthony has been playing basketball with a lot more passion lately and I think he is a great GPP play tonight if his shot is falling. Khris Middleton should see a usage and minutes bump with the Michael Beasley injury and it will be interesting to see if he can return to pre-injury form and take advantage of the opportunity he will be presented tonight.
Cash Plays: Willie Cauley-Stein, Trevor Booker
Gpp Plays: Dario Saric, Anthony Davis
Game Theory: Willie Cauley-Stein is taking full advantage of the departure of Demarcus Cousins and is showing the type of upside that was seen in this kid at Kentucky. In an uptempo game with an awesome matchup against the Nets, a team which plays zero defense, Cauley-Stein should be able to eat if given the 30+ minutes he is projected to get. On the otherside of that game if Trevor Booker who is the definition of consistent. He is one of the Nets best players and if they want to get that eluding 10th win they need to role Booker out there for extended minutes in this matchup tonight. He is a reasonable price and if given 25+ minutes should easily hit value. In my opinion Anthony Davis can never truly be a "cash" play considering that if he twists his ankle he will be done for the game. He is in a great spot tonight and should see a usage bump at a depressed price point with Demarcus Cousins suspended from tonight's game.
Cash Plays: Kyle O'Quinn, Nikola Vucevic
Gpp Plays: Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard
Game Theory: Today the best play on the board is Kyle O'Quinn. He is cheap, in a positive matchup, and expected to see 25+ minutes. He should be popular tonight and for good reason. But there is always the chance he gets hurt or in foul trouble in which case it could be smart to turn to an offensive force on the other side of the court like Nikola Vucevic. Hassan Whiteside has been playing much better basketball of late and is a legit threat for a 20/20 game with major upside if he is blocking shots. He is a great GPP play if you are looking to differentiate as he is in a cake matchup with the Embiid-less Sixers.
