NBA 3/14/17 Breakdown

As NBA is a game where last minute real life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second

Point Guard

Cash Plays: Russell Westbrook, Jeremy Lin, Derrick Rose

Gpp Plays:  Reggie Jackson, Ish Smith, Isaiah Whitehead

Game Theory:  Against the top 5 fastest paced teams Russell Westbrook has dominated this season which I expect him to do tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. He is extremely high priced but he will be the highest raw point scorer at the end of the night and in a matchup with Brooklyn that only favors the Thunder by 6 I expect Westbrook to get a full allotment of minutes tonight and provide a floor of 50 fantasy points which is perfect for cash games.  For GPP my favorite play today is Ish Smith. I think Reggie Jackson was lucky to see the majority of minutes the other day these teams played as Ish Smith is the much better defender and essential to slowing down Irving. If Jackson isn't hitting his shots and is getting exposed on defense as usual, the Pistons will be forced to play Smith the majority of minutes at point guard who provides a lot of upside at his price.

Shooting Guard

Cash Plays:  Victor Oladipo, CJ McCollum, Allen Crabbe

Gpp Plays:  Sean Kilpatrick, Patrick McCaw, Jordan Crawford

Game Theory:  The safest play today at shooting guard is going to be Victor Oladipo. He has seen his minutes on the rise since coming back from injury and in a dream matchup with the Nets in a game that is projected to stay close he provides a very safe floor for cash tonight. In GPP I'm looking to another shooting guard in this game in Sean Kilpatrick. I expect the Thunder to put up a lot of points tonight and in order for the Nets to compete Sean Kilpatrick is going to be a crucial factor in creating offense for the Nets. If Kilpatrick is hitting his shots and staying aggressive on the offensive end by getting the the free throw line he could be in for a big game and I truly think he provides a lot of upside at his price.

Small Forward

Cash Plays: Lebron James, Maurice Harkless

Gpp Plays: Marcus Morris, Paul George, CJ Miles

Game Theory:  Lebron James has been playing incredible basketball lately and I expect the best player in the world to want revenge for the Cavs loss to the Pistons the other day. I expect Lebron to come out with a lot of energy and play a ton of minutes to ensure the Cavs come away with the W tonight. Lock him into your cash games with confidence. In GPP a guy who pops off for random huge games that I have been fortunate to have rostered him during is Marcus Morris. Morris is going to need his best stuff tonight against the Cavs in Cleveland and I expect him to bring it. Morris can rack up numbers in all categories and as we've seen this season has the potential to pop for a 40-50 point fantasy game every once in a while.

Power Forward

Cash Plays:  Tobias Harris, Kristapas Porzingis, Enes Kanter

Gpp Plays:  Al-Farouq Aminu, Anthony Davis

Game Theory:  My favorite PF today is Kristapas Porzingis. He is very fairly priced and has major upside. He nearly cracked 40 FP against the Nets in his last game but was limited from foul trouble. He could have approached 50 FP if he was able to finish out the game. Porzingis plays with a fire and I expect him to remain aggressive and defend his home court tonight to give the Knicks their best chance to come away with a win. Porzingis does have some bust potential but his upside negates any risk and I will be locking him into my lineups today.  For GPP the best play is Anthonny "Glass" Davis. In my opinion this is not a spot a lot of people should be paying up for him but on a shorter slate like today I can not be 100% certain what his ownership will be. He's is a better play on Draftkings but is in an awesome matchup and has legit 70+ point upside.  If you're looking for a not so sneaky high upside play with a ton of risk, Anthony Davis is your guy.

Center

Cash Plays: Jusuf Nurkic, Andre Drummond

Gpp Plays: Demarcus Cousins, Myles turner

Game Theory:   For cash today I am just going to lock Jusuf Nurkic into my lineup and work from there. Nurkic has been an absolute beast since join the Trailblazers. He is getting around 30 minutes a game and is averaging over a1 FP/min. If he can stay out of foul trouble he should be an extremely safe play tonight with major upside. If you are looking to differentiate in GPP my favorite guy to target tonight is Myles Turner. He's going to go under owned and has decent upside at a fair price. He has a soft matchup with the Knicks and has an opportunity to dominate tonight in the Garden.
