NBA 3/15/17 Breakdown

As NBA is a game where last minute real life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second

I'm running a bit behind today so the game theory will be shorter than usual but feel confident as usual plugging in these plays into your lineups tonight!

Point Guard

Cash Plays: Ricky Rubio, Patrick Beverly, Rajon Rondo

Gpp Plays: Kemba Walker, George Hill, Tyler Ullis

Game Theory:  Ricky Rubio has been on fire lately and should continue his consistent play tonight. He is a great cash game play. A guy I was on last minute a couple nights ago was Rajon Rondo. He had a huge game and I think he has a ton of upside as well as a safe floor if playing 28-32 minutes per game. For GPP my favorite play is George Hill who I think carries 40-50 point upside and should go under owned because he is not the "sexiest" play at the position.

Shooting Guard

Cash Plays:  Jeremy Lamb, James Harden, Buddy Hield

Gpp Plays:  Lou Williams, Rodney Hood, Denzel Valentine

Game Theory:    Jeremy Lamb is not so much as a lock tonight because of his price bump but is still an awesome play at this price. He is going to be high owned and is a great cash game play. James Harden gets an awesome matchup with the Lakers, the only concern here is the blowout risk.  For a contrarian GPP punt I really like Denzel Valentine who has seen a big minutes boost lately. If he stays confident and aggressive on the offensive end and boards could put up a big game at his minimum price tag.

Small Forward

Cash Plays:  Brandon Ingram (FD), TJ Warren, Paul George

Gpp Plays: Jimmy Butler, Vince Carter, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Game Theory:   Brandon Ingram plays an insane amount of minutes and is so cheap that if he puts up a decent all around game provides major upside at his price tag. TJ Warren has been pretty consistent for 25-30 FP per game the past couple weeks and I expect to see similair production today. Not a great GPP play because upside is limited but perfect for cash.  On the GPP side it might be wrong to chase Vince Carter's points but the man is 40 year's old and still capable of putting up points whether it's knocking down threes or getting to the rim. If he picks up some peripherals and his shot is falling, he could have a nice upside game.

Power Forward

Cash Plays:  Marvin Williams, Willie Cauley-Stein, Tobias Harris

Gpp Plays:   Dirk Nowitzki, Ryan Anderson, Larry Nance Jr.

Game Theory:  Marvin Williams has been playing out of his mind from a fantasy perspective lately. With Batum out again tonight I expect Williams to have another solid game. He will be high owned so may be worth the fade in GPP but provides the floor we're looking for in cash tonight.  Another guy who I like for cash tonight is Willie Cauley-Stein. Since Cousins has been gone he is averaging around a fantasy point per minute. If he's rolled out there for 30+ minutes he provides an extremely high floor with some upside.  For GPP I like Larry Nance Jr. The only thing holding this guy back from a ceiling game is the fact that he rarely gets above 25 minutes. Walton sometimes keeps Randle's minutes below 30 and if Randle gets into any sort of foul trouble look for Nance Jr. to take advantage and put on a show.

Center

Cash Plays: Ivica Zubac, Alan Williams

Gpp Plays: Jusuf Nurkic, DeMarcus Cousins

Game Theory:    My favorite play at center tonight is Alan Williams. Most people will be on Zubac which is why I listed him here but I think Williams is the better play at just a couple hundred more.  For GPP I think DeMarcus Cousins has a lot of upside at his price. Remember when he was 11k+? He is on the fringe of dipping below 9k and even on the Pelicans always has the potential to pop for a huge game. He is a great GPP play.
