NBA 3/8/17 Breakdown

As NBA is a game where last minute real life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second

Point Guard

Cash Plays: John Wall, Ricky Rubio, Kemba Walker

Gpp Plays: Jeremy Lin, Steph Curry,  Dennis Schroder

Game Theory:    John Wall has been playing great basketball this year and with Bradley Beal spacing the floor Wall has been able to do his thing and has an extremely high floor in an amazing matchup with the Nuggets. Both teams play at a high pace and there should be plenty of scoring in this one.  Very slight bump down for playing two road games back to back but not very concerned in this game.  The Nets are a bad team. But with Jeremy Lin on the court he is able to make a huge difference in the way this team plays, seen by an impressive win against the Grizzlies two nights ago. Lin is a better play on Draftkings and is risky because of his recent injuries but has major upside at his price point if given the minutes. Steph Curry is a GPP only play for me tonight in a matchup with a stingy Boston backcourt. Isaiah Thomas defense won't shutdown Curry but if he draws Bradley/Smart the majority of the night he will need his best stuff to dominate this game which he is 100% capable of.

Shooting Guard

Cash Plays:  Norman Powell, Bradley Beal, Tim Hardaway Jr.

Gpp Plays:  Danny Green, Evan Fournier, Sean Kilpatrick

Game Theory:   Norman Powell is going to be popular tonight and for good reason. He's been seeing his minutes increase and is in a great matchup with the weak backcourt defense of the Pelicans. In GPP's I will be going elsewhere at SG but Powell is a great cash game play.  We saw Tim Hardaway Jr. have a career night a few days ago and showed the potential that he has. He is fairly priced on both sites tonight and is in a dream matchup with the no defense Nets. In GPP I have been rolling out Evan Fournier the past few days. He has a pretty high floor as well which makes him a decent play in cash but has 40 point upside and plays a ton of minutes. One of these days he's going to pop for 7-8x and I want him on my team when this happens. Sean Kilpatrick has put up back to back 30+ FP games and looks a lot better playing in an offense that Jeremy Lin facilities. Kilpatrick is a GPP play only in my opinion.

Small Forward

Cash Plays: Terrance Ross, Bojan Bogdanovic, Gordon Hayward

Gpp Plays:  Jimmy Butler, Marcus Morris, Sam Dekker

Game Theory:    Terrance Ross has been the chalk pretty much since he's joined his new team and it looks like he will be chalk tonight. He has had two disappointing games against the Knicks but is still underpriced for the amount of minutes he sees in this neutral matchup with the Bulls.  Bojan Bogdanovic put up ~40 FP last night and should continue on his 10x game tonight. Don't expect 30-40 tonight but 20-30 is probable. He has gotten a lot of minutes and has sparked offense for the Wizards off the bench. If Bogdanovic can get his scoring in he should easily hit value tonight.  Jimmy Butler is a secondary play tonight in my opinion and I think the questionable tag he has right now could help keep his ownership down. This is actually an up-pace game for the Bulls and Butler could put up a big score tonight if he plays and this game stays close.

Power Forward

Cash Plays:  Aaron Gordon, Paul Millsap, David Lee

Gpp Plays: Serge Ibaka, Anthony Davis

Game Theory:  Aaron Gordon will be chalk once again tonight and I think will be higher owned then Terrance Ross because he came through against the Knicks for about 6x. If you're looking to differentiate in GPP today I would fade Gordon but he should be close to a lock in your cash games and should get another opportunity tonight to crush value. Sharps were on Paul Millsap the other night and it looks like the rest of us are going to be one slate late for Millsap. He's going to be chalky tonight in this dream matchup with the Nets but for good reason and should be in your cash lineups tonight.  David Lee is a better play on DK in my opinion because of price but is a safe option for PF on both sites tonight. Serge Ibaka's numbers look good to me tonight but I can never play this guy on the right night and will only be rostering him in GPP tonight. The same goes for Anthony Davis. Unless he is the mega chalk I have been labeling him as a GPP only option and that is the same tonight as he has extreme potential to go off as well as bust.

Cash Plays: Rudy Gobert, Cody Zeller, Bismack Biyombo

Gpp Plays:  Pau Gasol/Dewayne Dedmon, Ian Mahinmi

Game Theory:  Rudy Gobert has more upside then people realize and if he can rack up the blocks and steals has the potential for 50+ which we saw a few days ago from Gobert. His rebounding will give him a safe floor and he will be a popular option. Cody Zeller has looked great since coming back to injury and he had a great game the other day when I suggested him in my article.  He is still underpriced and if given the minutes has a lot of upside at his price. Ian Mahinmi. Where did that come from! He absolutely crushed last night and is still minimum price on both sites tonight. We saw what he can do when given minutes over Gortat and may have earned a longer run on the court tonight. If this is the case Mahinmi has a lot of upside in GPP's.
