NBA Plays of the Day 11/21/16

Point Guard

Top Play: John Wall – Obvious play really today. High pace game. Demi god at home. PHX is one of the worst against PGs. Ownership will be high and hard to fade in both formats tonight.

Secondary play: Jonathan Gibson – The CBA god. Averaged 42 points overseas which translates to 10 points probably in the NBA. But with his cost being  close to min, it makes him hard to fade. 1st game as a Mav he dropped 35 FPs which is 10x his value. Getting just 20+ from will be acceptable. I stated in podcast I am iffy about him as a cash play, but ownership most likely to in the 30-40 makes it a tough fade if he repeats. Only worry is the game is against the Spurs.

  • Fades: Kyle Lowry, Tyler Johnson

Shooting Guard

Top Play: James Harden – His price tag makes him a risk to hit value, but with SG tonight it makes it tough to find you your safe play. With value being available tonight it doesn’t make Harden hard to roster tonight. I wouldn’t worry about matchup here as he has still drop 50+ FPs against good defense teams.

Secondary play: Josh Richardson – Yes another value play, but I figure I need to point him out. I love Richardson as a lock tonight if Waiters is out. They are already thin as it is and he has seen high minutes. Only scary part about Richardson is his how bad he is at basketball. I think tonight is a night I have no problem rostering him in cash, just isn’t something I would consider a norm.

  • Fades: Demar DeRozan (Always)

Small Forward

Top Play: Kevin Durant – This game is just a disaster. I honestly have a problem rostering GSW players tonight, but if I’m picking one its Durant. Only played 1 game so far this year below the 30 minute mark which can make you feel okay with getting you that floor plus a chance for more. Small forward is kind of iffy tonight with no PG13 and Leonard in a worse game. Durant will have Robinson guarding him who just doesn’t even match his size.

Secondary play: Otto Porter/Andrew Wiggins – I like both of them tonight equally. I think Porter in that game alone is safe especially if you’re game stacking. Wiggins does have Crowder on him tonight, but with how Wiggins has been playing and with his usage he is just a cheaper DeRozan. Wiggins is more tournament to me than cash.

  • Fades: Kawhi Leonard, Harrison Barnes

Power Forward

Top Play: Thaddeus Young – I touched up on this on the podcast. Thad is in an interesting spot tonight. Game is most likely going to be a blow out, but Pacers are pretty naked tonight that should get him near his value. With PG out his usage has increased and had some pretty safe scoring games. With Turner now being out it leaves them with nothing down low.

Secondary play: Blake Griffin – His price has increased, but still doesn’t steer me away from him in this game. TOR on a B2B scares me a bit especially being on the road, but I still think Toronto will keep it close enough that you don’t have to worry about a 20+ lead going into the 4th.

  • Fades: LaMarcus Aldridge

Top Play: Hassan Whiteside – Well this is the guy if you’re not going value at Center today. This game is actually a close spread which leaves me to feel I want me some Whiteside. He will be squaring off with the great Embiid which should make for a good battle, but still doesn’t take away how bad Philly still is at guarding centers.

Secondary play: Alan Williams – Here is Whiteside Jr. The one guy who might have higher ownership than Whiteside. Don’t be scared of him coming off the bench, he still should be as effect. I think this just 100% lock in cash for me today, was in the air between him and Whiteside Sr., but this is kind of the Kelly Oylnyk train where I just want to have him due to ownership.

 Fades:  Jonas Valaciunas, Andre Drummond
