With McCown banged up with a long list of things (ribs being the most serious), Johnny Manziel will start for the Browns on Thursday. This may be Manziel’s chance to take the starting job for the remainder of the season. Josh McCown has played well but with the Browns sitting at 2-6 and nowhere to go but up it may be time to see what they have in Manziel and plan for the future. Johnny looked solid so far this season, much improved from last year. However, last year against the Bengals was when he got his first start as a rookie, and it turned out to be his last of the season. The Bengals ate the kid alive. We will see what happens come Thursday night with the whole country watching. The Browns season is essentially on the line and Cincinnati is as hot as ever and just came off a huge comeback win against the Steelers. Either way Johnny has had a habit of putting the ball on the ground or Cleveland has a long list of injuries in the secondary so this looks like a great match-up all around for Cincinnati at home.
