Ben's NBA Building Blocks (10/31/17)

Point Guard

Top Play: Russell Westbrook- This is the obvious play at Point Guard, if you can afford him on a short 4 game slate. His usage rate is just north of 28% and he is still putting up quality numbers with the addition of both Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. It's nice to lock in points on a small slate at some positions.

Value Play: Reggie Jackson- I love Jackson in this fast paced match up with the Lakers. The Lakers are playing at a top 5 paced this season and RJax has above a 25% usage rate when playing alongside the Pistons starters. I'm not buying into the Lakers as a good defensive team, and there will be a lot of points scored in this one.

Shooting Guard

Top Play: Devin Booker- This is going to be an extremely chalky play with Booker coming off a 50 point fantasy outburst and his matchup with the Nets. He has a 30% usage rate this season and should thrive in this track meet with the Nets, though be aware he was out late last night in NYC celebrating his birthday.

Value Play: none

Small Forward

Top Play: Giannis Antetokounmpo- Much like Russ Westbrook, ABC has been fantastic this season and it feels good locking in points on a small slate. He has a 35% usage rate this season, though I will say this spot does concern me a bit. The Thunder rank top 5 in defensive rating this year and they have the ability to use PG and Roberson to attempt to shutdown Giannis. I think I would prioritize Russ over Giannis based off price, but it's not like ABC can't put up 50+ again.

Value Play: T.J. Warren- He's the second best option on the Suns and is in the best match up tonight against the fast paced, non defensive Brooklyn Nets. He has not had a big game yet in terms of scoring and this couldn't be a better spot to have that breakout game. He has a 25% usage rate and he gets an even bigger boost if Demarre Carroll is out again for the Nets.

Power Forward

Top Play: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson- This is the perfect spot to use a guy like RHJ, who can run the floor in a fast-paced matchup with the Suns. If DeMarre Carroll misses again, that will lock RHJ into 28+ minutes and that would further elevate his status as the top PF play. He has the ability to pick up the peripheral stats that will smash his price tag on Fanduel.

Value Play: John Henson- I've been waiting to play Henson all season in Fanduel's new scoring, and now the time has come. With Greg Monroe out, this should lock Henson into stable minutes and he is coming off a 12-9-3 game with 3 blocks and he the Bucks will need his presence on the glass against the Thunder.

Top Play: Andre Drummond- Drummond is playing exceptionally well this season and matches up with the Lakers tonight who have been destroyed on the glass this season. He struggled with Brook Lopez last season, but given the new look Drummond that we are seeing this year I'm going to give him another shot tonight in a plus matchup.

Value Play: Brook Lopez- This isn't your normal value play but this guy might win someone a tourney tonight. He absolutely owned Andre Drummond last season and he won't be high owned because of the concerns with his playing time. Luke Walton has a knack to yank anyone not playing well out of the game, and if Lopez gets off to a hot start tonight watch out!
