Injuries That Matter
Oh man there are so many injuries to keep track of. As I have previously stated, I want to keep it to a list of 5 with additional if needed. There are couple of resolved injuries that we don't need to mention (I see you chalk Coleman) and I have skipped in the summary below.
Here are the injuries that matter:
Aaron Rodgers status? If you watched the crazy comeback I am sure you noticed that Rodgers did not look 100%. He was basically playing with one leg and he was unable to fold his knee. Aaron Rodgers in one leg is still better than most, but, he is playing against the vicious Vikings defense that I am sure are eager to get after Rodgers. While most people are going to looking into the Vikings defense (I think there is one better defense) I am actually looking at Randall Cobb for this game. This will be a huge leverage play over the chalk Vikings defense. Rodgers is going to have to get rid of the ball QUICK and Cobb has the chance to catch a bunch of short passes.
- Titans will be without their Left Tackle Lewan and their Right Tackle Jack Conklin, which is not very good when your TE (and best receiver) is done for the year, and your starting QB will not be anywhere near 100%. All the injuries make me absolutely love the Texans defense. I am hoping they go overlooked and everyone goes to the Vikings defense. Missing all these players makes Dion Lewis an awesome PPR option for this week. If you need a fill-in RB for this week Lewis could be very useful.
- Goodwin? Godwin? Marquise Goodwin (SF) has been ruled out which bumps the value of Kittle and opens up Pettis as potential cash (?) play (we might not need to go that low but he is in play). Godwin could be an amazing play if DeSean Jackson is out. D-Jax practiced in full which makes it more likely that he will play, but when they asked their coach if D-Jax was out of the concussion protocol he did not say yes or no (You can actually practice while on the concussion protocol).
- The Seahawks can’t catch a break. It seems like Doug Baldwin is going to be out for a couple weeks. This gives a bump to both Brandon Marshall and to Lockett. If I had to play one in GPP it will be Lockett because of his big play upside but don’t be surprised if Marshall scores at least one TD on a hybrid-TE role. If Lockett is available in your waiver wire pick him up ASAP.
- As if you needed more reasons to stack the Chiefs and Steelers game, it seems like Eric Berry will miss his second game in a row. I am expecting Antonio Brown and Juju to go crazy on the Chiefs DB. Big Ben has been questionable all week but he is fully expected to play.
