FanDuel Value Plays
Quarterback ($7500 or less)
Colin Kaepernick ($7500) @ ATL: I feel like I recommend this guy every week. This should be the final week where I suggest Kaepernick because after his performance against the Falcons, his price will increase. The Falcons pass defense is 23rd in the league, so that performance by them against the Rams was definitely a fluke, Kaep brings a high floor every week due to his ability to run. He is always at risk of a mid game benching, but I think the rewards outweigh the risks in this one. It also helps that this game is expected to be the highest scoring game on the slate with a total of 52.
Running Back ($7000 or less)
Kenneth Farrow ($6000) vs. OAK: Melvin Gordon went down with an injury last week and I am completely unsure if he will suit up in Week 15. Keep an eye on this news throughout the week, typically if a guy gets a full practice in on Friday and Saturday, he will play. IF Gordon were to miss, Farrow would be the value play of the day at running back. When Gordon went down last week, Farrow had 16 carries for 55 yards and6 receptions for 23 additional yards. This would be a very safe cash game play if he ends up being the starter. But, pay attention to the Gordon news throughout the week.
Carlos Hyde ($7000) @ ATL: Hyde went absolutely nuts against the Jets last week who were supposedly an “Elite” run defense going in. 17 rushes for 193 yards is a great day. Atlanta is a much worse rush defense than the Jets on paper, but late in the season, anything can happen. Hyde’s workload should be safe regardless of how this game goes due to his usage in the passing game as well. I think it may be another week where everybody pays up at running backs, so Hyde could be a good pivot to that.
Wide Receiver ($7000 or less)
Stefon Diggs ($6300) @ IND: After a few down games for Diggs, his price has now decreased from $7000 to $6300. Just in time for a tasty matchup against a horrible pass defense. The Colts are ranked as the second worst team in the NFL against the pass. The Vikings need to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive, and I expect them to ride Diggs to try to get them there.
Sammy Watkins ($6100) vs. CLE: The Browns are terrible and can’t cover anybody. They are ranked 31st against the pas and have the third worst overall defense in the entire league. Watkins is priced way too cheap for the type of player he is, and I love taking advantage of these situations. His usage will only increases as the season goes along and he could have a potentially huge day against the “defeated” Browns.
Tight End ($5200 or less)
Jermaine Gresham ($4500) vs. NO: Let me start this out by saying the Carson Palmer is officially washed. He looked absolutely terrible against the Dolphins on Sunday. The only thing he can do effectively is short dump off passed to DJ, Fitz, and Gresham. Jermaine Gresham has quietly been producing really well over the last 3 games by averaging about 8 targets and about 9 fantasy points per game. Throw in an amazing matchup against the Saints who are 24th against tight ends, he could be the best value play on the board at the position.
DraftKings Value Plays
Quarterback ($6000 or less)
Tyrod Taylor ($5700) vs. CLE: There is the potential that Tyrod will be benched this week, so watch out for news. If he does start like I expect him to, he will be an excellent value because quarterbacks have been destroying the Browns all season. He would be a safe cash game play in this matchup.
Running Back ($5000 or less)
Frank Gore ($4400) @ MIN: $4400 is just too cheap for a player that gets the volume of Gore with an ok matchup against Minnesota. He does not offer huge upside, but will safely hit value like always.
Kenneth Farrow ($4400) vs. He may end up being a must have on DraftKings if Gordon misses.
Wide Receiver ($5000 or less)
Adam Thielen ($4800) vs. IND: Adam Thielen has had double-digit fantasy points over his last 6 games. His floor is probably around 8 points, which is still decent at his price. He should be a safe bet for around 6 receptions for 60 yards and a potential touchdown. The Colts are an easy team to throw against and Thielen should be a safe play this week.
JJ Nelson ($3900) vs. NO: Michael Floyd was arrested on DUI charges on Monday morning. I am unsure if that means he will play this week. If he doesn’t, Nelson becomes a good value play although suited for mainly GPP’s. In one game that Floyd missed this year, Nelson went 8 receptions for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. Now that is his ceiling. His floor is easily around 2 points. Nelson is a boom-or-bust value this week that can win an entire GPP for you.
Tight End ($4000 or less)
Jermaine Gresham ($2500) vs. NO: This must be a pricing error on the sites because he should not be minimum. I will be having a TON of Gresham shares on DraftKings this week.
